# clsCaseSearchManager

`clsCaseSearchManager` backs the legal case search screen, letting users find cases by claim number, policy number, worker name, SSN, or check number, and reporting the search results. It inherits `LegalManagerBase` (this library) → `ClaimAppManager` (`SAIF.Application.Claim`).

## Purpose
- Search for legal cases by claim number, policy number, worker name, SSN, or check number.
- Produce a search-results report for the case search screen.

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Application.Claim.Legal`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Application.Claim.Legal.dll` (embedded library, referenced by the `Legal` web front end)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `New(inDatabase, inSecurityPrincipal)` | `Public Sub New(inDatabase As String, inSecurityPrincipal As clsSecurityPrincipal)` | Constructs the manager for the given database context and authenticated principal, calling into `LegalManagerBase.New`. |
| `SearchResultsCol` | `Public ReadOnly Property SearchResultsCol As clsCaseSearchResultCollection`* | Exposes the matching-case collection produced by the last search. |
| `SearchByClaimNumber(claimNumber)` | `Public Sub SearchByClaimNumber(claimNumber As String)`* | Finds cases matching the given claim number and populates `SearchResultsCol`. |
| `SearchByWorkerName(lastName, firstName)` | `Public Sub SearchByWorkerName(lastName As String, firstName As String)`* | Finds cases matching the given worker name and populates `SearchResultsCol`. |
| `SearchBySsn(ssn)` | `Public Sub SearchBySsn(ssn As String)`* | Finds cases matching the given worker SSN and populates `SearchResultsCol`. |
| `GetSearchResultsReport()` | `Public Function GetSearchResultsReport() As String`* | Produces the search-results report content for printing/export. |

## Behavioral notes
- This manager is read-oriented: it locates cases rather than mutating them, deferring to the manager returned/selected by the caller for subsequent case-context operations*.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Search parameters (claim number, policy number, worker name, SSN, check number) are mutually exclusive search criteria per invocation rather than combinable filters**.

> marked with ** could not be confirmed; treat as unknown until verified.
